Why Catholic by Design?

Lumen Gentium, one of the principal documents of the Second Vatican Council, best explains...

My Response Letter

Dear Ms. Stronach:

As a constituent in your Newmarket-Aurora riding, I am writing to encourage you to support Private Member's Bill C-484, the Unborn Victims of Crime Act, when the legislation is presented before the House of Commons following its review by the Justice and Human Rights Committee.

This important piece of legislation would amend the Criminal Code to make it an offence to injure, cause the death of or attempt to cause the death of a child before or during its birth while committing or attempting to commit an offence against the mother.

According to an Environics Poll from 2007, 72% of Canadians support legislation of this kind (http://www.lifecanada.org/html/resources/polling/Environics%20Poll%202007.html) I, too, support this legislation.

Although there is a considerable amount of debate about this bill and its affects on abortion law, it should be noted that this piece of legislation deals exclusively with those women who have chosen to bring their babies to term and who were attacked.

I urge you to vote in favour of this legislation when it appears before the House for Third Reading.
